Spain’s under 21 side beat Denmark 3-1 in the first of two warm-up games prior to this summer’s European finals. Coach Albert Celades gave a run out to three debutants at this level, Odriozola, Yeray and Oyarzabal, preferring to leave some of his star players for the match against Italy. However his team fell behind early on, Celta’s Hjulsager turning a shot past Pau López in the twelfth minute. Mikel Merino headed the equalizer though from a Marcos Alonso corner, and only a couple of great saves by Hojbjerg prevented Mayoral and Camarasa from giving Spain the lead before the break. Celades brought on his big guns Denis Suárez, Saúl Ñíguez and Williams on the hour mark though, and Odriozabal set up Saúl and then Denis to score twice in the last twenty minutes or so. (23.03.17)
