Real Madrid came from a goal down to beat Napoli 3-1 on Wednesday evening, a result which stands them in good stead going in to the return leg in Italy. Insigne caught Keylor Navas out of position with a long shot early on, but Benzema headed the equalizer from a Carvajal cross just ten minutes afterwards. Later in the first half Ronaldo, Benzema and Hamsik went close at either end, but soon after the restart Kroos scored a second after Ronaldo laid the ball back, and Casemiro volleyed a spectacular third past Reina just five minutes later. Ronaldo, Marcelo, Casemiro and Modric all fired shots wide after that, but another away goal could have complicated things for Zidane’s side, and in the last few minutes Callejón had a strike ruled out for offside and Ghoulam, Mertens and Insigne all failed to convert chances. Barcelona are almost certainly out of the Champions League after a humiliating 4-0 defeat at Paris Saint Germain on Tuesday night! Unai Emery’s side dominated throughout, Di María giving them an early lead with a well struck free kick, and Draxler adding a second after Veratti set him up before the break. Soon after the restart Di María made it three with a shot from outside of the area, and with twenty minutes to go Cavani ran on to Meunier’s pass to score the fourth. André Gomes missed a good chance in the first half, and Umtiti headed against the bar later on, but otherwise Trapp was barely troubled, and only some good saves from Ter Stegen prevented Matuidi, Lucas and others from adding to the scoreline.
