Athletic Bilbao are safely through to the play-off stage of the Europa League after a comfortable 0-0 draw against Inter Bakú on Thursday evening. Eraso’s two goals from the first leg had given the Basque side a big advantage, and the ex Leganés forward came close to increasing the lead when he hit the post early on. Agayev had to save from Aketxe and Susaeta before the break, and Herrerín was only troubled by a shot from Seyidev which sailed just over the crossbar. Aduríz and Beñat wasted chances after the restart, but with the intense heat taking it’s toll later on, both teams eventually called it a day.
