Spain’s under 19 side are out of this summer’s finals after they lost their last group match to England! Luis De la Fuente’s team only needed a draw in a match they were hosting to go through, but they found themselves behind in only the sixth minute when Onomah beat Athletic Bilbao’s Unai Simón. Ontiveros, Borja Mayoral, Pape Chiekh and Caricol all failed to convert chances before the break, and Aleñá went close soon after the restart. However first choice striker Mayoral had to leave the field of play with an injury, and just two minutes later Armstrong made it two for the visitors. The defeat not only means that Spain will not be able to defend the title they won for the seventh time last year, but they will also miss out on the subsequent under 20 World Cup.
