Spain’s under 19 side were held to a 1-1 draw by Georgia in their second group match, a set-back for Luis De la Fuente’s team in their push to qualify for this summer’s finals. Bidzinashvili put the East Europeans ahead against the run of play in the seventh minute, but Ontiveros and Borja Mayoral both hit the woodwork before Mayoral equalized with an angled shot shortly before the break. However despite having several chances the youngsters could not add to the scoreline in the second half. As things worked out though their next opponents England also drew 1-1 against Greece later in the day, which means that Spain (who have a slightly better goal difference over Aidy Boothroyd’s side) only need a draw on Tuesday to see them through.
