Spain are in to the European semi-finals after they beat England 1-0 on Sunday! Real Madrid’s Fran García was given a first start by Santi Denía, and he ran through from midfield to score what was to prove the only goal with eleven minutes on the clock. Barcelona keeper Iñaki Peña had to make important saves though from Mount and Hirst either side of half time, and Morris missed a good chance later on, but Mboula tested Thompson at the other end, and substitute Ujía could have added to the lead when he shot wide with ten minutes to go. Spain’s opponents next Wednesday will be Germany, with Portugal and the Netherlands meeting in the other semi-final.
