The third and final promotion spot is still up for grabs, Osasuna having a slight advantage over Girona going in to Saturday’s second leg after they won 2-1 in the Sadar stadium on Wednesday. Kenan Kodro headed the locals in to an early lead from a De las Cuevas cross, and Mikel Merino fired a shot just wide of the post later on in the first half. Mata had a penalty appeal turned down at the other end after he was brought down by Nauzet in the area, and with a quarter of an hour or so to go Kiko Olivas equalized after Alcalá headed the ball on following a short corner. However five minutes later Maikel Mesa connected with Merino’s cross to put the Pamplona based side in front once again, and having knocked Nàstic out in the semi-finals, they return to Catalunya looking to get back in to the top flight after a two year absence. Girona though will be confident of overturning the scoreline after doing the same against Córdoba last weekend, and they themselves are pushing for a first ever appearance in the first division having narrowly missed out last season.
