Latest transfers

So it’s finally confirmed, Iker Casillas has bowed in to the pressure and has taken up an offer from his old friend Julen Lopetegui to move to Porto! After 25 years at the club, 16 of which in the first team, San Iker will be sorely missed! Who will be replacing him at Real Madrid is not clear yet though, Manchester United holding out for €40 million or so for De Gea, and even suggesting a swap for the unsettled Sergio Ramos and Keylor Navas. Meanwhile Madrid are looking elsewhere, with Espanyol’s Kiko Casilla (himself an ex alumnus) a possible option. This one has a long way to go yet!

As we all know, Barcelona can’t sign anyone until January because of the FIFA transfer ban, but that didn’t stop the caretaker board (in charge pending presidential elections later this month) from agreeing terms with Atlético’s Arda Turan to join in winter. With the signing of Jackson Martínez still not officially announced, Turan’s replacement at the Calderón stadium will be the little known Ferreira Carrasco, who joins from Mónaco. Meanwhile Sevilla continue to rebuild their side after Bacca and others moved on, Immobile about to sign from Borussia Dortmund, and Konoplyanka, Rami, Escudero and N’Zonzi joining Kakuta and Krohn-Dehli in what is starting to look like an impressive squad. Still six weeks to go however until the new season starts, and we are sure there will be many more surprises before it all begins again. (09.07.15)
