Spain’s under 19 side qualified for this summer’s finals in style, a 4-0 win over Portugal completing an impressive Elite round performance. Needing at least a draw to go through, Espanyol’s Caricol cut in from the left wing to open the scoring with twenty minutes gone. Villarreal’s Alfonso set up Borja Mayoral for the second soon afterwards, the Real Madrid striker’s fourth goal in the mini-tournament, and Mallorca’s Marco Asensio made it three after the keeper could only block an effort from Alfonso. And with the game coming to a close substitute set up Alfonso for the fourth, giving Luis de la Fuente’s team maximum points and a massive 13-1 aggregate goal average in the competition.
