A good start for Spain in their under 19 Elite round, Luis de la Fuente’s side beating hosts Georgia 4-1. Mallorca’s Asensio was attributed with the opening goal, even though his shot hit Real Madrid’s Borja Mayoral on the back to loop over the keeper, and Zaragoza’s Vallejo got on the end of a Caricol cross to make it two midway through the first half. Tevzadze fired one back just before the break, but Concha crossed in for Mayoral to make it three, and Villarreal’s Alfonso completed the scoring in injury time with a low shot after Mayoral set him up. Despite the big win though Spain are only second in their group after Portugal thrashed Turkey 6-1 in the other group game.
