Spain beat Bulgaria in their second group game, and they now only need a point in their last match against Croatia to make it through to the knockout stage. The hosts hit the bar in the opening minutes, but Málaga’s Zalazar put Santi Denía’s side ahead soon afterwards after Aleña played on Villalba’s free kick. Santomé had to make a couple of saves after that though before he failed to control a back pass, allowing Yordanov to nip in and score. However Villalaba restored the lead with a low shot after Aleña played a wide free kick across the edge of the area, and Carle Pérez and Alex Martín both hit the post after that.
