No problems for Sevilla on Thursday evening, Unai Emery’s side cruising into their second Europa League final in a row and their fourth in ten years after a 0-2 victory over Fiorentina. Already three goals up from the first leg, Bacca and Carriço scored twice in a five minute period midway through the first half to put the game beyond the reach of the Italians, both coming from Banega free kicks. Before the goals though Sergio Rico had to make a brilliant save from Gonzalo’s header, and the young keeper was in action several times after that, in particular tipping a long shot from Pizarro over the bar before the break. The locals did have a chance to get back in the game when Krychowiak gave away a penalty on Pizarro midway through the second half, but Ilicic blasted the spot kick over the bar. Sevilla’s opponents in the final in Warsaw will be Ukraine’s Dnipro, victors over Napoli in the other semi-final, with an added incentive this time around as the winners will qualify for next season’s Champions League.
