Latest transfers

Two thirds of the way through the winter transfer window, and the moves have slowed down to a trickle. Financial far-play rules are partly responsible, with clubs such as Getafe and Recreativo forbidden from signing new players until a) they settle back debts to their squad and b) they free up space on their payrolls, but the general economic situation is not helping as the financial crisis in Spain enters its eighth year without too many signs of improvement. Some teams have been able to strengthen their squads though, for example Málaga bringing in Javi Guerra and Filipenko as Santa Cruz, Portillo and Pablo Pérez move on, Córdoba signing Bebé and Edimar after Mike Havenaar left for Cyprus, and Deportivo tying up Oriol Riera, Celso Borges and Hélder Costa. Granada too have added Insúa, Lass and Robert Ibáñez to their squad, with Abel Resino brought back to replace Joaquín Caparrós after a string of poor results left them at the bottom of the table. Only ten more days to go though until the window closes again, and expect to see more activity as that deadline approaches. (20.01.15)
