Spain made it seven wins out of seven after beating Hungary 0-1 in the penultimate group game! Albert Celades was in charge for the first time since taking over from Julen Lopetegui in the summer, and he drafted several new players in to the squad, including Manquillo, Denis Suárez and Munir, who were all included in the starting line-up. Team captain Muniain missed a penalty though in only the second minute after Tamas held back Deulofeu, and later in the first half Munir got the ball in the net only for his header to be ruled out for a borderline offside. Midway through the second half however Atlético’s Saúl Ñíguez got what was to prove the only goal with an angled shot which the keeper couldn’t stop from entering the net, and Pacheco and his defence held fast as the locals put in a late onslaught looking for the equalizer.
