Barcelona left it late, but a 3-0 victory over Bayern Munich on another magical evening in the Nou Camp took the Catalans to the brink of another Champions Lreague final. Once again the hero of the night was Leo Messi, the Argentinian superstar scoring two impressive goals in quick succession with just under a quarter of an hour to go, and then setting up the third for Neymar in injury time. The match signalled the return of Pep Guardiola to his old hunting ground, and although his side were missing several key players, they put up a fierce resistence, Lewandowski missing a good chance early on and Thiago firing a couple of shots wide. Neuer had to make important saves though, in particular from Luis Suárez in the opening minutes and Dani Alves later in the first half, and Suárez, Rakitic and Neymar all went close before Messi squeezed a long shot past the keeper. Three minutes later Messi left Boateng for dead before chipping an angled shot past Neuer, and with the German side pushing forward he sent Neymar away for him to wrap things up.
