Betis put an end to their supposed goal drought, thrashing Jablonec 6-0 to secure their place in the league stage of the tournament. A 1-2 victory in the Czech Republic already gave them a big advantage, and Salva Sevilla set up Rubén Castro for a first and then crossed in for Benes to score a second in to his own net. Andersen was not called upon until Vosahlik finally tested him shortly before the break, but after the restart Matilla and Molina put the game well beyond the visitors' reach with two more goals. Braian Rodríguez and Xavi Torres scored their first goals for their new club after that, and the Andalusians could have won by a bigger scoreline had Chuli and Cedrick converted chances later on.
