Betis kicked off their Europa League campaign with a 1-2 victory at Jablonec, a result which gives them a good chance of making it through to the league stage of the competition. Jorge Molina put Pepe Mel's side ahead in the twentieth minute, beating Spit at the second attempt after controlling a long pass by Nacho, but with the first half coming to a close Kopic levelled the scores after picking up a pass from Novak to fire a shot wide of Guillermo Sara. The Argentinian keeper had to make some important saves after that, in particular stopping efforts from Pitak and Hubnik either side of half time, but with six minutes to go an active Cedrick slid home the winner after Spit could only push out a shot from Chuli.
