A brilliant start for Spain's under 21 side in their first European qualifier, Julen Lopetegui's team running out 2-6 winners over Austria. All the goals were scored by Real Madrid players, Morata in particular bagging four, and Dani Carvajal opening the scoring in only the second minute after latching on to a loose ball to fire an angled shot in to the net. Ten minutes later Morata poked a shot past Riegler after Sergi Roberto headed over Suso's cross, and five minutes after that he got his second of the evening, beating the offside trap to head Carvajal's centre over the keeper in to the net. Florian Kainz pulled one back though after Pacheco was unable to clear Holzhauser's corner, and for a few minutes it looked as if Austria may get back in it. But after a short delay following an injury to the referee, and with half time looming, Morata ran through to complete his hat-trick. After the restart Tobias Kainz, Ziegl and Zulj all went close for the locals, and with seven minutes to go Carvajal headed a Tobias Kainz free kick back in to his own net. But four minutes later Morata ran on to Perico's through ball to score his own fourth of the match, and with the game in injury time Jesé completed the set with a deft volley after controlling Carvajal's cross on his chest.
