Santi Cazorla was the star as Spain beat Ecuador 0-2 in their latest friendly international, the Arsenal midfielder setting up Negredo for the opener midway through the first half, and then scoring the second himself after Tello laid back Arbeloa's pass with just over an hour on the clock. It was another grueling trip for the World Champions though, Del Bosque resting some of his war-weary veterans and giving first caps to Tello, Iñigo Martínez and Koke. Silva and Iniesta both hit the woodwork in the first half, but Casillas had to pull off a top class save from Castillo on the stroke of half time and Valencia headed an easy chance against the upright after the restart. Another win though, and a good warm up ahead of the important World Cup qualifier against Finland which takes place at the start of next month.
