Spain's new under 17 squad organised a couple of friendly games at the beginning of October against Slovakia, who will be hosting next summer's European finals. The first match ended 2-2, the scorers for Spain being Barcelona's El Ouriachi and Celta's Yelko Pino, and they lost the second game 1-0. Santi Denía's side will be taking part in the first qualifying round later this month, where they will face Azerbaijan, Bulgaria (the group IV hosts) and Poland, with the top two in the group going through to the Elite round.
