Latest transfers

The season has ended and the transfer window is open again, teams having until the end of August to put together their new squads. The first task for many though is to get a manager on board, and no less than half of the first division clubs will be making a change this summer. As usual it is a bit of a merry-go-round, with for example ex Mallorca coach Caparrós coming in at Levante to replace Juan Ignacio Martínez, who moves to Valladolid to take over from Djukic, who is the new boss at Valencia instead of Valverde, who replaces Bielsa at Athletic, etc., etc. Elsewhere Bernd Schuster returns to La Liga to substitute new Manchester City boss Pellegrini at Málaga, and as we are going to press Real Madrid are tying up the last details to sign Paris Saint Germain's Ancelotti to take over from "the special one" (now self proclaimed as "the happy one") jo-sé-mou-ri-nho, who has called it a day and is returning to Chelsea. On the player front no doubt the biggest transfer to date (and probably this summer as well) is Barcelona's signing of Neymar for a reported €57 million, but several big names will be moving on as well, not least of which being Falcao to Mónaco, Jesús Navas to Manchester City, and Llorente to Juventus. PS Breaking news is that Málaga and Real Madrid have agreed terms for transfer of Isco at €27 million!.
