Hard times in Spain right now, and only the two most fervent autonomous regions organised matches during this season's winter break. Euskadi were the first to kick off, and they raced in to a four goal lead in the first half hour before running out 6-1 winners against Bolivia. Athletic's Aduríz and Toquero got two each, their team-mate Ibai Gómez also scored, and Real Sociedad's Agirretxe wrapped things up, with Pontons getting a late consolation for the South Americans. Catalunya had more problems though against Nigeria a few days later, Johann Cruyff's team only able to draw 1-1 in the end. Veteran midfielder Sergio converted an early penalty for the locals, but Bright Dike levelled the scores after the restart. (02.01.13)
