A fairly meaningless match in Israel, with Athletic Bilbao beating Hapoel Kiryat 0-2 to move above their hosts in the table. The game had been postponed from last week for security reasons, but with Sparta Prague and Olympique Lyon drawing last Thursday, neither side had a chance of making it through to the next round. As a result Bielsa decided to rest most of his key players for the weekend league match in the Nou Camp, and his line-up included five players from the B team, with two more coming on as substitutes. Even so though they were more than a match for their opponents, with Llorente hitting the bar before he opened the scoring shortly before half time, the striker finishing off after Toquero's shot had been blocked following an Isma López corner. Raúl did well to keep out Abed shortly after the restart, but with a quarter of an hour to go Toquero put the game beyond Kiryat's reach with a second goal following an Ibai Gómez free kick.
