Julen Lopetegui's side only needed a draw to make sure of their place in the last four, but Suso hit the bar with a free kick, and Alcácer went close a couple of times before Denis Suárez opened the scoring with a few minutes to go to half time. After the restart Deulofeu shot just wide, and keeper Ortolá was not tested until he had to save from Rättel with ten minutes to go. Spain's under 19 side are close to a place in the semi-finals of the under 19 European tournament after picking up four points in their opening two group stage matches. Julen Lopetegui's side started with a 2-1 win over Greece, with Real Madrid's Jesé and Derik the scorers. And in their second game they drew 3-3 with Portugal, Jesé putting his team ahead three times but their opponents pegging them back each time.
