The Copa del Rey final will take place between city rivals Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid after both won through their respective semi-finals. The two teams have met four times in the final, with Atlético winning three, the last back in 1992. The date set is Saturday 18th May, although this could change to Friday 17th or Sunday 19th as the television company will be showing the Eurovision Song Contest at that time. The venue has also to be decided, with Valencia and Barcelona amongst the possibilities. As both teams are already virtually sure of a place in next season's Champions League, the Europa League spot normally assigned to the cup winners or runners up will go to La Liga's seventh placed side this season.
