Real Madrid are through to this season's cup final after a 1-3 win against a rudderless Barcelona. With coach Tito Vilanova still undergoing treatment in New York for his illness, his side were easy prey for the visitors, Cristiano Ronaldo opening the scoring from the penalty spot after Piqué brought him down in the area in only the twelfth minute.
Messi had shot wide a few minutes earlier, and he fired a free kick under the defensive wall just past the post before the break, but otherwise Diego López was hardly troubled, and Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos could both have added to the lead before half time.
Some twelve minutes in to the second half Ronaldo got his second of the night after Pinto could only push out Di María's shot following a quick breakaway, and Varane headed the third from Özil's corner ten minutes later.
Jordi Alba did get a late consolation after Iniesta set him up, but by then the game was over, and Mourinho's side will meet the winner of tomorrow night's second semi-final between Sevilla and Atlético.
