Many people were hoping for an all Spanish Champions League final after Barcelona and Real Madrid reached the semi-final stage once again. However both of them were knocked out for the second year in a row, and the final this year will be between German sides Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, with the match taking place at London's Wembley stadium. There will at least be a Spanish presence though, with Javi Martínez and Mario Gómez (of Spanish extraction) both in the Bayern Munich squad, and Bayern's new coach Pep Guardiola waiting in the wings to take over from Heynckes in the summer. A late goal from Robben gave Bayern Munich the title against their fellow countrymen Borussia Dortmund. Spain's Javi Martínez played the 90 minutes. (25.05.13)
