Athletic Bilbao had already ensured their berth in the next round in their last group match, but they tied up top spot in their mini-league with a 2-1 win over Slovan Bratislava on Thursday. De Marcos started things off on the quarter hour mark after Had could only turn Susaeta's cross in to his path, but Halenar hit the bar with a free kick before Sebo ran on to Milinkovic's long pass to equalise shortly before the break. Susaeta restored the lead though with a soft header from a De Marcos cross with fifteen minutes to go, and Ander could have increased the scoreline late on had the referee not ruled out his strike for a non existent offside.
