Atlético Madrid got their European campaign back on track with an impressive 4-0 win over Udinese, a result which takes them to the top of the group, above the Italians on head-to-head goal difference. With only twelve minutes gone Atleti had already matched the 2-0 result from a fortnight ago, Adrián beating Handanovic twice with assists from Arda Turan and Antonio López And a few minutes later a quick passing move between Diego, Facao and Adrián ended with Diego making it three. Floro Flores shot wide and Abdi hit the bar either side of the break as the visitors tried to get back in the match, but Falcao put the game beyond their reach with a fourth goal midway through the second half. One of their best performances of the season, and Atlético now need one win from their last two games to book a place in the knock-out stage.
