Atlético Madrid are having problems scoring goals recently, and they failed once again to hit the mark in a 2-0 defeat at Udinese. Apart from an early header from Floro Flores over the top, Manzano's side had the better of the first half, although Falcao fired the best chance over the bar. Godín also failed to hit the target when free on goal soon after the restart, but with two minutes to go a scuffed shot from Fabbiani fell to Benatia, whose shot hit Perea and entered the net. Atleti threw everything forward, but in the last play of the match Flores made it two on a quick breakaway to take the Italian side three points clear of their opponents at the top of their group.
