Athletic Bilbao missed a golden opportunity to wrap up their Europa League qualifier in the first leg, and they now have to survive a tricky return match in Turkey next week. Bielsa's side dominated from start to finish, but they were unable to convert any of the many chances, despite playing against ten men for almost 90 minutes after Ylimaz was sent off for bringing down Muniain early on. Llorente, Muniain, Herrera, Gabilondo, and after the break substitutes Susaeta and Toquero all came up against Tolga, and the visitors could even have sneaked a win had Iraizoz not kept out Altintop and Paulo Henrique late on.
