With the European championships taking centre stage this month, the transfer market has got off to a slow start. One member of the Spanish squad has sorted out his future though, left back Jordi Alba agreeing to move back to his old club Barcelona for a reported fee of 14 million. Valencia themselves are having a clean-out sale, in part to pay for their expensive new stadium, with Aduríz returning for a third spell at Athletic Bilbao, Moyà agreeing to stay on at Getafe, and Topal moving back to Turkey to play for Fenerbahçe. Maduro, Bruno, Dealbert, Miguel and Michel will also be leaving, with only Pereira, Guardado and Jonathan Viera coming in to replace them for now. Meanwhile Atlético Madrid have allowed young defender Domínguez to move to Borussia Mönchengladbach to square the books for their June year end close, and Antonio López and Perea have also found new homes after their contracts were not renewed. With Paco Jémez accepting the offer from Rayo and Anquela taking over at Granada, all first division clubs now have their coaches on board, and we expect things to pick up as the first teams come back from their short summer breaks.
