No Spanish teams in the Champions League final, but there will be two in the Europa League final in Bucharest after Athletic Bilbao and Atlético Madrid won through their respective ties. Athletic Bilbao beat Sporting Lisbon 3-1 on the night to go through 4-3 on aggregate, although it was not until two minutes from the end, with extra time looming, that Fernando Llorente fired home the winner. Susaeta had given the Basque side an early lead after Llorente set him up, and although Van Wolfswinkel equalised with two minutes to go to the break, Ibai Gómez put Athletic back in front before the half time whistle. Atlético Madrid came in to their match at Valencia with a 4-2 cushion, and although the locals dominated for much of the game, Adrián wrapped things up with an impressive strike on the hour mark. There was further bad news for the Ches when Canales was stretchered off with another knee injury, and Tiago was shown a red card as players clashed in a bad tempered incident near the end. (26.04.12)
