Spain lost 1-0 to England in their latest friendly international at the new Wembley stadium on Saturday evening. Del Bosque's side had problems getting through Capello's packed defence, and their first real chance didn't come until ten minutes before the break, when Busquets beat the offside trap but turned a Xabi Alonso cross over the bar. England themselves hardly troubled Casillas in the first 45 minutes, but just four minutes after the break Bent headed a free kick against the post, and Lampard ran in to head past half time substitute Reina. From then on it was almost all Spain, Villa hitting the post and Fàbregas failing to find the target three or four times later on, the last a clear cut chance which he put wide after Villa crossed in from the left. Just a friendly game in the end, but after losing against Argentina, Portugal and Italy in the last fifteen months, Spain's reputation as the best team in the World is now under question. (12.11.11)
