Spain made sure of their place in Euro 2012 with a more than comfortable 6-0 win over Liechtenstein on Tuesday evening. Del Bosque wasn't taking any chances though, and he put out a strong line up, with Iniesta, Mata and Busquets the only three changes from the team which started against Chile. Negredo had an early goal disallowed for a dubious offside decision, but with just over half an hour gone he beat the offside trap to control Xavi's long pass and open the scoring. A few minutes later Iniesta and Villa combined to set up Negredo for his second of the night, and before half time Xavi made it three with a well struck free kick. The scoring continued after the restart, Sergio Ramos connecting with Iniesta's cross for the fourth, and Villa adding two more later on to take his tally with Spain just one short of the fifty. Spain will be in Poland / Ukraine to defend their title, and Del Bosque has an added bonus of the last two group matches to try out new players. (06.09.11)
