Spain's under 20 side are getting in to full stride in Colombia, and they completed the group stage with maximum points after thrashing Australia 5-1. Within twenty minutes they were already four up, Sergi Roberto scoring in the first minute after Alvaro Vázquez laid back a cross from Kike Femenía. Vázquez added two more in the next twelve minutes after assists from Dani Pacheco and Roberto, and the Espanyol striker completed one of the quickest hat-tricks ever seen in the tournament with a header from Pacheco's corner. Bulut got one back after picking up a long clearance by his keeper before cutting past two defenders, but Canales made it five from the penalty spot on the half hour mark after Vázquez was fouled. Things slowed down after the restart, with Petratos and Bulut causing some problems for third choice keeper Alex, who Julen Lopetegui brought on at the break, and Amini managed to get the ball in the net in injury time only for his impressive strike to be ruled out for the positional offside of a colleague. No problems for Spain though, and they stay in Manizales to play South Korea in the last sixteen on Wednesday. (06.08.11)
