Thursday 5th January:

First leg games over, with most still in the balance. Man of the cup so far must be Mirandés's Pablo Infante, who is a bank manager by day!

Valencia 1 - Sevilla 0 (final). Jonas goal gives Valencia the edge for next week's second leg. Winners to play Alcorcón or Levante.

Valencia 1 - Sevilla 0 (Jonas 33'). Brazilian picks up Mathieu pass and curls a shot past Palop to open the scoring...

Sevilla line-up: Palop; Caceres, Spahic, Fazio, Navarro; Medel, Trochowski; Jesús Navas, Rakitic, Manu Del Moral; Negredo.

Valencia line-up: Diego Alves; Miguel, Rami, Víctor Ruiz, Mathieu; Albelda, Banega; Pablo Hernández, Jonas, Jordi Alba; Soldado.

Córdoba 2 - Espanyol 1 (final). Another win for lower ranked team. All four have done well in the first leg. Next up Valencia v Sevilla.

Córdoba 2 - Espanyol 1 (Caballero 84'). Another surprise on the cards! Caballero turns in Fuentes cross to give Andalusians the lead!

Córdoba 1 - Espanyol 1 (Borja García 80') Second division team have not given up yet! Borja beats Christian Alvarez to make it all square!

Córdoba 0 - Espanyol. 55' - Espanyol keeper Casilla sent off after giving away penalty, but Christian came on to save Pepe Díaz spot kick!

Córdoba - Espanyol 1 (Sergio García 38'). Alvaro's shot had already crossed line before defender cleared, but Sergio knocked in rebound.

Wednesday 4th January:

Barça 4 - Osasuna 0 (Messi 92'). That's it! Messi picks up another Xavi pass to wrap things up. Guardiola can rest a few players next week.

Barça 3 - Osasuna 0 (Messi 72'). Messi runs in to head in cross from ¿Cesc? Alexis on for Cuenca. Just what Osasuna needed, another forward!

Still 2-0 at Nou Camp. Min 60, Messi on for Pedro. What's a touch of gastric flu to a god?!?

Barça 2 - Osasuna 0 (Cesc 18'). Eat your heart out Arsenal! Great goal from Fàbregas - chip over keeper from another Xavi assist!

Barça 1 - Osasuna 0 (Cesc 14'). Barça already one up, Xavi passes out for Fàbregas to beat Riesgo.

Osasuna line-up: Riesgo; Damià, Lolo, Sergio, Raitala; Nekounam, Timor; Cejudo, Annunziata, Torres; Lekic. Last time in Nou Camp lost 8-0!

Barça line-up: Pinto; Alves, Puyol, Piqué, Mascherano; Xavi, Busquets, Thiago; Cuenca, Cesc, Pedro. A 2-8-0 formation?!? Messi on bench.

Real Sociedad 2 - Mallorca 0 (final). Good win for San Sebastian side. If they get through, they may meet Athletic Bilbao in quarter-finals!

Real Soc 2 - Mallorca 0 (Agirretxe 54'). Calatayud pushed Aranburu shot on to bar, and Agirretxe scores on follow up. Basque derby next up?

Real Sociedad 1 - Mallorca 0 (Aranburu 17'). Basques go one up, Aranburu heads in Agirretxe cross! Lively game!

Tuesday 3rd January:

End of game in Bernabeu, 3-2. Madrid fight back for win ,but now need a result in second leg to ensure place in sem-finals.

Madrid 3 - Málaga 2 (Benzema 78'). Incredible! Three in 8 minutes from Madrid turns scoreline around! Great touch on from Higuaín!

Madrid 2 - Málaga 2 (Higuaín 70'). Striker intercepts sloppy back-pass from Sánchez to equalise. What a cock-up by Málaga!

Madrid 1 - Málaga 2 (Khedira 68'). German midfielder battles through to get one back. Hope yet for defending champions!

Mirandés 2 - Racing 0; Alcorcón 2 - Levante 1 (full time). Wins for both of the lesser sides in first leg! Can they keep it up next week?

Madrid 0 - Málaga 2 (Demichelis 32'). Carbon copy of first goal, Demichelis this time heads in Cazorla corner! Still an hour to go but...

Madrid 0 - Málaga 1 (Sergio Sánchez 10'). Málaga ahead in Bernabeu! Sánchez heads in Cazorla corner to give Andalusians the lead!

Alcorcón 2 - Levante 1 (Nagore 50'). Smaller teams doing well tonight! Nagore charged down Del Horno clearance to restore lead for hosts!

Mirandés 2 - Racing 0 (Arroyo 45'). What is going on?!? Some doubts about who scorer was, but Mirandés two up at break against Cantabrians!

Albacete 0 - Athletic 0 (full time). Good result for 2B side to take to San Mamés! Iniesta will be happy, his vineyard are their sponsors!

Mirandés 1 - Racing 0 (Pablo Infante 32'). Another surprise! Pablo scored 2 to knock out Villarreal, and now he has opened the scoring here!

Alcorcón 1 - Levante 1 (Pallardó 24'). Levante are back in it with scrambled strike from Pallardó. Important away goal?

Alcorcón 1 - Levante 0 (Borja 13'). First goal of the evening, and second division side ahead with great strike from Borja!

Half time at Albacete, no goals as yet. Best chance was cross / shot against post by Athletic's Iraola.
