A goal from Di María was enough to give Real Madrid a 0-1 victory over Dinamo Zagreb, although Mourinho's side suffered more than expected against a physical opponent before coming away with the three points. The coach himself, hiding at the back of the stands due to the second of a two match ban, saw his team dominate the first half, with a shot from Benzema clipping the crossbar and Di María and Özil both thwarted by a couple of top class saves from Kelava. Casillas though had to be on his guard to save from Rukavina before the break, but seven minutes after the restart Di María curled a shot past the local keeper following a quick passing move to score what was to prove the only goal of the game. Kelava did well after that to stop efforts from Ronaldo, Coentrão and Benzema, but after Marcelo was given a second yellow card for diving in the area, Mourinho decided that the best thing to do was to protect the result.
