Villarreal will be in next Friday's Champions League draw after a 3-0 victory over Odense in the second leg of their qualifying tie. A goal down from the first leg, Garrido's side needed to score, but a couple of first class saves from Wessels, in particular from Borja Valero and Rossi, kept the Danish side ahead at the break. Five minutes after the restart though Rossi got on the end of Nilmar's cross to force a shot past the keeper and level the tie, and a quarter of an hour later the Italian striker connected with another cross from Cani to steer a first time volley in to the net. Odense were left with ten men a minute or so after that when Kadrii picked up a second booking, but numbers were evened up when Valero was shown a red card for a rash retaliation on Johansson. Substitute Marchena made it three however with ten minutes to go, Wessels allowing his speculative shot to slip through his hands in to the net, and Villarreal were through.
