Villarreal will be in tomorrow's quarter final draw after beating Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 on the night and 5-3 on aggregate. Garrido's side were already well on the way after their first leg victory, but Diego López had to keep out a dangerous Renato Augusto free kick before they finally got started. After that though Rossi almost put the locals ahead when he intercepted a bad back pass by Reinartz before shooting just wide, and a few minutes later Cazorla ran on to Rossi's return pass to steer a shot wide of Adler. Renato put up a solitary resistance, bringing another good save out of the local keeper and then shooting wide either side of half time, but with just over an hour gone Rossi picked up an angled pass from Cazorla to drive a low shot past Adler again. Derdiyok did get one back later on, probably with help from Gonzalo as both of them lunged for Schwaab's cross, but even with Renato still buzzing around, the Bundesliga side were never going to get the two more they needed to level the tie.
