Villarreal beat Dnpr Mogilev 1-2 on Thursday night to ensure a place in the league stage of the competition. This was the biggest match of the season though for the Belarusians, and a capacity crowd saw Yurchenko open the scoring early on. With a five goal lead from the first leg, Garrido had put out a side packed with replacements, but even so Altidore caused some problems for the local defence before Nilmar equalised on the stroke of half time. The Spaniards were left with ten men when Cristóbal picked up a second booking midway through the second half, but Marco Rubén deprived the home fans of even a draw when he beat Kopantsov for a second time near the end.
