Spain are out of the European finals! A 1-2 defeat against England left them in second place in the table, and it will be the English side who will be playing in Serbia this summer. With goal difference well in their favour Ginés Meléndez's side only needed a draw to go through, and the scoreline remained unchanged in an even first half. But a quarter of an hour after the restart Redmond got on the end of Sterling's cross to fire a shot past Alfonso, and seven minutes later Jackson got the second after the keeper could only push out a previous shot. Spain pushed forward after that, but it was not until the last minute of injury time that Pablo turned the ball in to the net after Pickford failed to hold on to Saúl's headed cross. Too little too late, and the youngsters fall again to the side who defeat them in last season's European final.
