Spain are European under 21 champions after a 2-0 victory over Switzerland in today's final! Luis Milla's side followed in the footsteps of their senior colleagues to become the first country to hold the full and under 21 European titles at the same time, confirming that Spain are likely to dominate international football for some time to come. Switzerland came in to this game without letting in a single goal, but Adrián, Ander Herrera and Thiago all went close before Ander got between the central defenders to head Didac's cross past Sommer shortly before half time. De Gea had had to save from Shaquiri before that though, and the keeper was in the right place to save from Emeghara soon after the restart. But with ten minutes to go Thiago caught the keeper off his line with a quickly taken long free kick, and the game was over. Another title for the youngsters, and they will come together again for the last time next summer to take part in the 2012 Olympic Games. (25.06.11)
