Barcelona will be in this season's Champions League final after a 3-1 aggregate victory over Real Madrid! The two goal advantage from the first leg was too much in the end for Mourinho's side to overcome, and although the score on the night was 1-1, the final result was never really in doubt. Mourinho himself, banned from the dugout for his criticism of the referee from the first leg, preferred to watch the game from his Barcelona hotel room. And although his team pushed forward at the beginning, Casillas had to make important saves from Messi and Villa to keep the scores level at the break. A minute after the restart though there was more controversy when Higuaín got the ball in the net only to see play pulled up for what the referee considered was a foul by Ronaldo on Mascherano, and a few minutes later Iniesta found Pedro with a pinpoint pass for the forward to open the scoring. Soon afterwards Marcelo levelled the scores after Di María fired a shot against the post, the Argentinian midfielder picking up the rebound to set up his team-mate. But Barça controlled the match after that, and Valdés had little to do until the final whistle. (03.05.11)
