A goal in extra time from Cristiano Ronaldo was enough to give Real Madrid their first Spanish cup title in eighteen years! This was the second of four meetings in eighteen days between the two sides, and Mourinho repeated the defensive formation he used in the 1-1 draw at the weekend, with all three of his centre forwards on the bench. Even so they had the better of the first half, with Ronaldo having an early effort cleared off the line by Mascherano, and Özil shooting just wide. Cup keeper Pinto had to make a couple of saves from Ronaldo later on, and Pepe headed an Özil cross against the post just before the break. The second half though belonged to Barcelona, Pedro having a goal disallowed for a marginal offside, and Casillas having to keep out efforts from Messi, Pedro and Iniesta. However with the scoreline unmoved the game went in to extra time, and Ronaldo got above Adriano to head Di María's cross past Pinto to put his side in front. Barça tried their best to get back, but Adebayor and Ronaldo could have added to the lead, and although Di María was sent off for a second bookable offence, the game ended seconds later. First blood to Mourinho, Champions League up next! (20.04.11)
