Spain are out of the European finals! A 1-2 defeat against England left them in second place in their Elite group table, and it will be the English side who will be playing in Serbia this summer. With goal difference well in their favour Ginés Meléndez's side only needed a draw to go through, but second half goals from Redmond and Jackson put the game beyond their reach, and Pablo's injury time strike came too late to change the result. Spain had won their opening two games, beating hosts Belgium 1-3 with goals from Moisés, Gerard Deulofeu and Vico, and then thrashing Northern Ireland 5-1, Gerard, Denis, Iker Hernadéz (twice) and Pol Calvet the scorers.
