One down, one to go! Barcelona completed the formalities on Tuesday night, beating Shakhtar Donetsk 0-1 to set up a probable semi-final meeting with arch-rivals Real Madrid. Despite the 5-1 first leg lead Guardiola was not taking any chances with his line up, with Mascherano and Busquets alternating in a central defensive role in the absence of Puyol and Abidal. The Ukraininan side knew they would have to score quickly if they were to have any hope, and Valdés was in action early on to keep out Douglas Costa and Jadson. Messi and Afellay brought good saves out of Pyatov in response, and with the first half coming to an end Messi picked up a return pass from Dani Alves to open the scoring. Valdés had to save a dangerous Jadson free kick before the break, and a shot from Mkhitaryan after the restart, but this one was already over in the Nou Camp.
