Atlético Madrid are through to the quarter finals on the away goal rule after an exciting 2-2 draw at Sporting Lisbon. Agüero was the man who did the damage, the striker opening the scoring in only the third minute from Simao's cross. Liedson headed one back for the locals a few minutes later, but with half an hour on the clock Agüero turned past Caneira to beat Rui Patricio for a second time. It was an important second away goal, and although Polga levelled the scores on the stroke of half time, Atlético were still ahead. De Gea still had to make a couple of important saves after the break, in particular from Salceido, but Quique Flores's side held on to keep open their options of two cup titles this season.
