Spain finished top of their group after beating Venezuela 3-0 in the last match. Luis Milla rested some of his key players, but Dani Parejo stayed in the line-up and opened the scoring with a well struck free kick in the twelfth minute. Aarón got the second from the penalty spot a few minutes later after Parejo was fouled in the area, and Ander Herrera rounded things off later on after a quick passing move with Fontás. Spain's next match will be on Monday against one of the best ranked third placed sides.
