Spain's under 19 side started the European Championships with a 2-1 victory over Turkey, although they must consider themselves fortunate to have come away with the three points. Albarak gave Turkey an early lead with an angled shot, and it could have been two a minute or so after the restart had Rochela not covered for a bad mistake by De Gea. But two minutes later Falqué converted a penalty after Juanlu was brought down by Serdar, and a couple of minutes after that Juanlu turned in a Jordi Pablo cross for the winner. France and Serbia drew 1-1 in the other group B game.
